About Us

The ASEAN Dx Initiative is co-chaired by Philippine Council for Health Research and Development (PCHRD) and Singapore’s Diagnostics Development Hub (DxD Hub).

It was endorsed at the 76th ASEAN COSTI in 2018, to facilitate the co-development and adoption of healthcare diagnostics solutions for unmet clinical needs across ASEAN Member States (AMS).

Our objectives include commercialising and making locally developed diagnostic products accessible in ASEAN.

  • Support capabilities building in AMS
  • Focus on bridging the translational gap to develop diagnostics solutions for implementation
  • Improve human health and grow healthcare industry in ASEAN

The experts and strategic stakeholders from each AMS came together and established Strategic Planning Panel (SPP) to facilitate the development and delivery of diagnostic products. In September 2018, the first SPP meeting was held to initiate a call for project proposals aligning with diagnostics for Dengue, Hepatitis B, Malaria, and Tuberculosis.

As MedTech is a key growth sector for Southeast Asia, the ASEAN Dx Initiative aims to address the rapidly growing healthcare demand driven by population growth and a rising middle class.
